Jim
Spilsbury was born in Findern, Derbyshire, England
in 1905. His parents immigrated to Savary Island prior to World
War I, and early on, Jim realized the need to connect people isolated
by water on BC’s west coast. His careers as a radio and then
airline entrepreneur are recounted in Spilsbury’s Coast,
The Accidental Airline and Spilsbury’s Album
written after retirement in 1981 while living in the Copper Cliff
area of West Vancouver.
