Behind the Wire: the Wartime Diary and Art of Robert Buckham
November 7, 2007 to February 9, 2008
The exhibition features evocative illustrations of WWII
from artist Robert Buckham’s prisoner of war diary, journal and
artwork. Also included are illustrations and paintings the artist produced
after the war.
The Haunted Museum

Explore Halloween throughout the ages, from Celtic rituals
and traditions to pup culture ghouls and legends. Hear spooky tales from
our own region and learn about local customs practiced on All Hallows
Eve. During this Halloween exhibition, the Museum offers special Halloween
programs for children.
The Black Slip: The Painting of Jane Billaux
September 15 to October 27,2007
Though born and raised in London, England, Billaux has
strong ties to West Vancouver. She immigrated to Canada from England in
1934 with her husband, Hugh Clifford, and their young daughter. Over the
span of forty years, Billaux painted pictures evocative of both the times
in which she lived and the artist’s solitary practice.
Enduring Traditions: Stitúuntm
March 20-August 31, 2007
Enduring Traditions explores the artistic expression of
the Squamish people who utilize Coast Salish design elements and composition
to create striking masterworks. The exhibition brings together historic
and contemporary objects and images, and offers an opportunity to appreciate
treasured objects.
2006-2007
Winston Elliott: Capturing the Likeness
November 7, 2006 to January 27, 2007
In a career spanning over sixty years, Winston Elliott
produced a legacy of portraits, paintings and illustrations, capturing
the spirit of the decades between World War II and the present day.His
considerable talents were first recognized at the age of nineteen, when
Elliott enlisted in the Canadian Navy. He has lived in West Vancouver
since 1957 and worked as a successful illustrator. This retrospective
is his first show in British Columbia.
Living on the Edge: West Vancouver Modernist Homes 1940-1970
February 21 -September 16, 2006
This exhibition features photographs and architectural
plans of West Vancouver modernist homes, and examines the interrelationship
between architecture, art and design, and the emergence of a new style
of architecture, known as "West Coast Modernism". Covers and
articles from Western Homes and Living Magazine, and interior furnishings
and art by local designers and artists are included.

North Shore Moves: Paddles to Fuel Cells
May 17 - December 10, 2005
This exhibition features an overview of the history of transportation
on the North Shore, bringing it up to more recent and environmentally
sustainable modes of transportation.
