Purpose

The West Vancouver Historical Society was founded in 1980. Through the efforts of its members, the Society has been successful in the development of the Municipal Museum and Archives in the historical Gertrude Lawson House.

The purpose of the Society is:

• To promote awareness of, and interest in, the prehistory, history and development of West Vancouver and,
   
  
• To support the West Vancouver Museum and Archives in its mission to preserve that history and development by presentation and accessibility to the public.

The West Vancouver Historical Society has regular meetings with a variety of entertaining guest speakers. These meetings are held at the West Vancouver Seniors Centre.
